Tom Robinson Band / Power in the Darkness

　トム・ロビンソン・バンドのパワー・イン・ザ・ダークネス！1978年のアルバムです。「これがロックだ！」っていうストレートな音！レインボーのライジングとともにかなり強力な拳ジャケです！
　先日、ふらっと、某レコ屋に入ったところ、ステンシル付の美品を発見！即買いしてきました！このレコード、出たときに買ってず～っと持ってたのですが、いつの間にか処分してしまっていて・・・。
　基本的に、パンクは肌に合わないのですが、ごくごく数枚、妙に肌に合うものがありまして、このアルバムはそのひとつ。すごく好きなんですよ～。荒削りだけど演奏がちゃんとしていて、曲もリフも歌メロもギターやオルガンのソロもすごくツボにハマった感じで、ホントに音楽としてよく出来ていると思うんです！
　収録曲は、Side 1 - 1.2-4-6-8 motorway(3:19) 2.Up Against the Wall(3:35) 3.Grey Cortina(2:10) 4.Too Good to Be True(3:35) 5.Ain't Gonna Take It(2:53) 6.Long Hot Summer(4:44) 、Side 2 - 1.The Winter of '79(4:31) 2.Man You Never Saw(2:44) 3.Better Decide Which Side You're On(2:50) 4.You Gotta Survive(3:15) 5.Power in the Darkness(4:55)の１１曲。メンバーは、Tom Robinson(b,vo) Danny Kustow(g) Mark Ambler(key) Dolphin Taylor(dr)の４人でした。

　全曲よいのですが～、特にお気に入りは、発売当時ラジオで流れまくっていた2-4-6-8 motorway。この曲は1977年9月に発売されたデビュー・シングルだったんですね。UKのオリジナルLPには入っていないようです。
　そして、３コードの攻撃的なリフが超強力なup against the wall。up against the wallは、当時バンドでコピってたので、随分経ったけど、まだ弾けるかも
　そしてそしてオルガンが渋い味を出しているlong hot summer。
　極め付けはタイトル曲power in the darknessです！

　ＬＰには、ジャケットの絵柄の拳がスプレーで簡単に描けるステンシルがついています。
　公共のものにスプレーするためのものじゃないって注記されてますね。当時、これでどこかにスプレーした人たちってそれなりにいるのではないかと・・・。音楽聴きながらこのステンシルを眺めてると、部屋の壁にスプレーしたくなってきた・・・危険！危険！でも妄想してるだけで、ちゃんと理性的にくり抜かないで保存してますよ！
　youyube見てたら、昔バンドでギター弾いてた頃のことを思い出して、いつになく熱くなって４つも貼ってしまいました！
